Upcoming films to be released under the CINEGRIOT banner include "PANDORA'S BOX": a feature based on the classic novel by famed author Osamu Dazai, and directed by the young Japanese prodigy Masanori Tominaga; and "A SOUND ALCHEMIST WHO CREATED THE SOUND OF THE SPACE" (working title): a documentary about Matsuo Ohno, the legendary sound creator of the classic anime series "Astro Boy".
CINEGRIOT INC. was founded in June 2008 by Masashi Sakamoto, formerly of Nikkatsu Corporation, the first film company established in Japan. He has over 15 years of experience in filmmaking and is the owner of Griot & Groove Companies, a recognized digital content production company group in Japan. He has produced numerous outstanding CGI/VFX works such as "demonlover", directed by Olivier Assayas (screened at 2002 Cannes Film Festival official competition), and "Cha no Aji (The Taste of Tea)", directed by Katsuhito Ishii (selected to open the Director's Fortnight at 2004 Cannes Film Festival).
With such a diverse background, CINEGRIOT INC. also has a division specialized in CGI/VFX production, and has already been involved in production of the award-winning comedy feature "KAMOGAWA HORUMO" directed by Katsuhide Motoki (GrandPrix Winner, 2009 Okinawa International Movie Festival).
Griot & Groove Companies (Cinegriot, Linda, Studio IBUKI, Animaroid) conduct business not only for the planning and production of a variety of genres of movies but also for the creation of high quality CG imagery of motion pictures, games, commercials, and other media.
